Written in the Stars
My birthday falls on June 22. The astrological sign for Cancer is usually stated as beginning on June 21 or 22, just after the end of the Gemini star cycle. This alignment puts me “on the cusp” of the two. When checking my horoscope, I look at both signs as I have attributes of either in my astrological makeup.
I’m not overly concerned with my star signs, but I do find it interesting to check my horoscope and see if my day really stacked up accordingly. Sometimes I find them truly encouraging. Sometimes useless. Sometimes just fun. Other times, I find them a wee bit alarming.
For instance, as many of you may now know, I ran into a new crush at Starbucks on Tuesday. My Wednesday horoscope mentioned “Now may be the time to get to know that cutie at the coffee shop a bit better.” While I understand that it’s a broad statement and somewhat ambiguous, it still struck a “weird” chord.
Meanwhile, today I’m getting one horoscope that says I’m about to have my free time (my what?!) taken up by work while I’m also being told that I have the confidence to ask out a “cutie” who will have trouble keeping his hands off of me.
I think the thing to do with horoscopes is a) read them a day later and giggle when you can make something match up to your day, or b) read as many as you can until you find one you like and go with that. Don’t you think?
