A Little Less Fancy
Whenever I write about the president (still love saying that!) I get a ton of readers. It almost seems a shame to write about anything else.
Unfortunately, I don’t always have the time to spend researching political issues while my personal life seems to have an eternal well of tantalizing subject matter.
Wouldn’t you agree?
Obama in the Big Leagues
Ladies and Gentlemen, last night our freshman president made what is the equivalent of his first State of the Union (SOU) address. (Traditionally, first-year presidents don’t make an SOU so this speech to Congress was more a “Condition of the Country” than a “State of the Union”. Still, it was a good speech and it deserves [...]
Halle-FREAKING-luiah!
It’s done! It’s over! This project which has sucked my life energy like the fat kid at the playground sucks out Twinkie cream filling is finally dead and buried. But, you know, in a good way.
It was delivered on time yesterday! And while I had stuff to do that kept me here a little bit [...]
Falling For My Work
“I’m for anything that gets you through the night, whether it’s prayer, pills, or a bottle of Jack Daniels.” – Frank Sinatra.
God bless the man. We all turn to different things to make us feel better. Some of them are healthy, some not so much.
I’ve been working a lot lately. Like, an insane amount. In fact, [...]
Many Manly Men
As you may know, if you’ve been keeping up with my terribly enthralling love life, I’ve started seeing someone. Someone I actually like. It’s all very exciting. Part of what is making this so entertaining though, is that I’m very much out of my depth. He’s unlike many of the men in my life; that’s [...]
Valentine’s Day Visions
I’m coming up on the first in-a-relationship Valentine’s Day I’ve had since my junior year of high school. It’s an odd feeling.
Last year’s V-Day was actually surprisingly good. I was quasi-seeing two guys (but all above-board, thank you very much) and I liked them both. A gentleman I worked with brought in roses that day [...]
It’s an Oatmeal Kind of Day
My brain is oatmeal. And I’m not talking the good-for-you, thick, steel cut oats of Scotland. I’m not talking about the rolled oats of Sunday morning breakfast. I’m not really even talking about a delicious packet of instant oatmeal.
I’m talking about the oatmeal you sometimes get at a cheap diner. The oatmeal that’s a little [...]
Babies, Babies, Everywhere
Ah, how I love irony.
While sitting the waiting room of the doctor’s office today I was surrounded by young families. There were babies, toddlers, proud papas, and manic mamas. I was inundated with the smell of baby and the sounds of crying, nursing, and general baby chatter.
I confess that it began to get to me. [...]
So Very, Very Busy
So, I’ve been working so much lately that I have had no time to write about anything. I’m working really long days, long hours, and I can’t seem to find a few minutes to talk about anything.
I’d love to talk about the stimulus issues. I want to discuss the crazy January weather and how very [...]
So Far, So Good
So far, he has no scales. I, however, am insane.
He’s been nothing but sweet and romantic. Which is, of course, weirding me out. I don’t really know this arena at all. I can handle the insane awful ones. This considerate stuff is unusual. Wish me luck that I don’t freak out about something stupid.
