South Beach Adventures – Making Progress
Believe it or not, I’m still plugging away at this crazy diet. Sort of. I’m still watching my carbs, eating mostly protein and high-fiber veggies, and avoiding sugar, but I’m also not making myself crazy over it. I’m allowed a treat every day. Sometimes I have beer. Yesterday it was a petite vanilla bean scone from Starbucks (with some of the glaze picked off–you go off sugar for a while and somethings just seem too sweet).
But here’s something I’ve learned: You know you needed to diet when you’re rejoicing at numbers on the scale that months ago would have been mortifying. Really. I’m so excited to see that I’m making progress, but the fact that this is progress is a little distressing.
Still, I’m choosing to focus on the positive here. I’m making progress. And I’m not even a raging, starving lunatic. How’s that for progress, huh?
